TTRPG's

2025 Review

This has been a really great year for TTRPG's, I played a ton of new games (new to me at least), dipped my toe into GM-less and solo games, and played quite a few old favourites, including 6 different Call of Cthulhu one shots.

Top Five Systems of the Year:

Memento Mori

Super interesting mechanics with losing core parts of your character to gain dark powers. I would love to play a campaign of this to fully explore those themes and mechanics more since I only got to play a short mini-campaign which we didn't get to finish.

Household

I love this world and every time I play I want to know more and more lore. Also the only game I actually prefer playing pregens than making my own character for!

Triangle Agency

I love the theming and the system so much! Character creation is quite unique, the corporate questionnaire to get your ability points is so cool and very on brand. Highly recommend playing a small stretchy clown robot, incredibly silly vibes.

A Complicated Profession

This was super fun and highly chaotic, I had so much fun with coming up with the scenes. GM-less games are so nice to play cause it feels truly collaborative, definitely my favourite one this year.

1000 Year Old Vampire

This was my first solo game, although not really cause I played this with another person. It was mostly me coming up with things for the prompts but it was nice having someone to bounce ideas off of when I got stuck. This was an incredible game and I want to play it again.
